Facilitating Investment for the Transition of Existing District Heating and Cooling
About the project
FIT-EX-DHC supports district heating developers and city services in decarbonising and expanding existing district heating and cooling systems. It will develop bankable, actionable and replicable investment plans for twelve case studies, five main and seven followers, in Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, France and Ukraine, selected to reflect different market maturity levels, network types, renewable technologies and business models. Case study owners, such as city administrations or network operators, take part as project partners. The approach has three layers: detailed design and investment plans for the five main cases by the core partners, guided deployment of the streamlined workflow by local partners in the seven follower cases, and outreach that engages further replication cases during the project.

Ukraine is one of the five countries with case studies. The Ukrainian partners, the Ivano-Frankivsk Central City Clinical Hospital and the Executive Committee of Yaremche City Council, take part as project partners; official sources do not specify whether the Ukrainian cases are main or follower cases.
