About the project

Secure Your SECAP addresses the gap between ambitious decarbonisation plans and their practical implementation: cities have committed to climate action, but securing public and private funding to move sustainable energy measures from policy to practice remains a bottleneck. The project builds a framework that reinforces capacities and accelerates implementation of these plans through multi-stakeholder cooperation and institutionalised dialogue among local actors, with a dedicated focus on industry, businesses and other private organisations. The model links local needs with bankable investment opportunities and encourages the signing of Climate Pacts between the parties. It is piloted in 28 lighthouse cities and 24 replicator cities in five EU countries plus Ukraine, selected for their experience, energy management expertise and political commitment, and delivers a replication toolkit, a portfolio of investment-ready projects and learning materials.
