Clean Energy Transition · Standard Action Project
CETAC
Clean Energy Transition Assistance Centers
About the project
To move towards net zero, municipalities need to influence neighbourhoods and businesses not only through regulation but also through collaboration, and comprehensive training of municipal staff is essential. CETAC sets up Clean Energy Transition Assistance Centers that act as an interface between a municipality and its citizens, businesses and other stakeholders, giving municipal staff, public company employees, NGOs and volunteers a framework for delivering local climate policy. The project helps municipalities set policy targets, trains personnel and establishes the centres' day-to-day operations. Activities concentrate on Central and Eastern Europe, with a specific focus on Ukraine as a non-EU country, given the region's relative lag in climate policy and emission reduction.
