About the project

SHAREs Plus advances citizen-led energy initiatives in five European countries by drawing on frontrunner expertise, proven tools and functional technical platforms. Building on the SHAREs National Gateways, it replicates the model in new countries and extends it to additional use cases, aiming to launch 13 new energy communities and to support 50 existing ones as Gateway users. The project focuses on Cyprus, Romania, North Macedonia and Ukraine, with Bulgaria as a pioneer and pilot site for citizen-led thermal renewables and vulnerable consumer engagement, and Austria as the main capacity-building partner. Its framework rests on four dimensions (integrate, enhance, learn, empower) and delivers localised technical support, legal Q&A catalogues, financial databases and National Citizen Energy Forums.
